Explore Stratford through art, poetry, & play!

Poetic Art On The Move is a creative community project celebrating Stratford through art, poetry, and place. Find a collectible postcard, reveal its poem, and and join the adventure that connects creativity, community, and story.

Welcome!

I’m Heidi Sander, writer of the award-winning poetry collection, Stratford Gems, a series that is my love song to Stratford. Poetic Art On The Move began with a simple idea: that poetry and art can connect us more deeply to place, to one another, and to the quiet beauty of everyday life.

These postcards are meant to travel - from one hand to another - carrying a piece of this place and a spark of connection.

To honour that spirit, this site also highlights the work of other Stratford artists and arts events. By sharing their creativity alongside this project, it strengthens the ties that connect us - supporting one another as we continue to make art that moves and inspires.

How Poetic Art Works

STEP 1

Find A Postcard

Wander Stratford and see what you discover! Poetic Art postcards can be found in local retail shops, cafés, and community spaces — or waiting for you in unexpected places like Little Libraries, park benches, and tucked corners around town. Each postcard features an original Stratford-inspired poem and photography. Once you find one, register it online for a chance to win the Grand Poetic Art On The Move Prize!

Scratch to Reveal

Gently scratch the surface to unveil the hidden image and poem beneath. Each postcard reveals a glimpse of Stratford through the seasons — from summer’s light to winter’s quiet. Every reveal is a small act of discovery, connecting art, place, and poetry.

Match, Share, and Send

Look at the back of your postcard — it holds part of a poetic line. Collect and match all four postcards to reveal the complete verse! Once you’ve uncovered the full poem, you can enter to win the Grand Prize. Then, write a note, add a little inspiration of your own, and send your postcard to someone — spreading Stratford’s art and poetry far and wide.
